Startup Bootcamp by TiE Silicon Valley (SBT SV) now in Collaboration with San Jose State University
The Startup Bootcamp by TiE Silicon Valley (SBT SV) course in partnership with San Jose State University covers all important aspects of transforming brilliant ideas into real life businesses. At the end of the course, participants will have a good understanding of relevant concepts, tools and skills that will equip them with entrepreneurial thinking and outlook. It is expected that the course will prepare the participants in advancing their thoughts/ideas to change their outlook, regardless of whether they start a business right away, take up a career oriented position or pursue higher education. Additionally, participants will have an opportunity to network with like-minded peers, meet with successful role models, and form lasting friendships.
Four-week long course. Delivered on San Jose State University campus. The students will form teams and pursue a business idea towards developing a business plan and pitch to a panel of investors.
- Class will meet every day from 9:30 am to 3 pm.
- 9:30 am to 12 noon: lecture and class discussion
- 12 pm to 1 pm: lunch break
- 1 pm to 2 pm: invited guest speakers
- 2pm -3 pm: mentoring sessions & teamwork
The course will be jointly offered as a standard Summer Course offering by San Jose State University for students interested on optionally taking it for credit. All students will meet from 10am – 3pm each weekday for academic lectures. The course will also provide additional invited lectures, entrepreneurial mentoring sessions and networking opportunities. Mentoring sessions will be specifically for helping student teams polish their ideas in to real startups.

Who should attend?
Aimed at college students who are interested in pursuing entrepreneurship or hone entrepreneurial skills. The program makes exception to select rising high school juniors and seniors as well as students who just finished their college, and some working professionals.
